Earlier this year. In the Spring. I had made an announcement. I was writing a book!
Weaving together tales from my six trips, it would be a massive feel-good find-yourself novel and it was going to be spectacular. I wrote 5 to 10 pages daily. I planned the outline, scenes, character profiles. It was going to be perfect and I was going to self publish before my birthday. Yennoda pirantha naal was last week. High five to anyone that knows Tamil.
Anyways. After the events that happened on my most recent trip, recounting them was a bit overwhelming for my anxiety. Going into details was difficult and I stopped.
I carried on with my normal life and tried to forget it all.
But then today I was thinking about it. About how I’ve not written for a while. How I want to resume it and maybe just change the story line a bit so that I don’t have to dig up the things I wish I could bury. Just make it a happy experience. None of the bad. I have plenty of good memories to draw from. And India gets enough bad stories attached to it, why add another. I should bring more positivity to the world.
Tonight I’ve started again. Only a couple of pages. 987 words. But a new title, new storyline, different characters.
This is going to be a fun one and I can’t wait to share with you in the future.
Wish me luck and I’ll be posting snippits here and there hopefully.
Also, thank you so much to everyone that’s been reaching out on my videos and twitter and facebook. I absolutely love all of your emails and messages and I’m so overwhelmed by your kindness. Some have even offered to let me stay with you next time I’m in India. I’m so lucky to have made such great friends, all thanks to my trips to India.
See you next time 🙂
